Position: Quality Control and Shipping Coordinator

Overview: The Shoe Surgeon is seeking a detail-oriented, process driven individual to join the team. In this role, you will examine each sneaker after production to ensure an impeccable product is being delivered to the client.  Quality is what our business strives for - this includes but is not limited to materials, cleanliness, comfort, stitching, shoe condition, size, and overall appearance. You will also maintain Shipping and Receiving records for products, online orders, and special projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop a precise understanding of the team’s quality and efficiency standards 
  • Examine product as part of the quality control process, ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met
  • Communicate product feedback to Production Floor Manager in order to increase the quality of products
  • Serve as the final step in the production process inserting shoe laces, in soles, and other items needed to meet cut ticket requirements
  • Ensure all details of transactions are correct in the product and order conditions
  • Ensure shipments are received, processed, and organized efficiently and correctly
  • Manage the team’s shipping accounts to ensure orders meet time and delivery requirements
  • Communicate order tracking numbers to clients and team members as requested
  • Organize requested tools, materials and other in-house product to fulfill orders from online and school based sales
  • Receive, manage and stock all products and merchandise maintaining an accurate inventory of operational items
  • Develop and maintain organization of studio stockroom
  • Assist team in duties as assigned by manager to complete rush projects
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by manager including but not limited to ordering company meals, moving waste containers, and assisting with schools or workshops
  • Manage email correspondence in a timely and professional manner with internal and external parties
  • Manage and monitor department expenses, reports, and credit card reconciliations

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrate attention to detail with laser focus and a great eye
  • Eager to learn and adapt easily, showcasing the ability to muti-task and problem solve
  • Able to work independently and handle the pressures of an increasing level of responsibility
  • Must be a team player and work across every pillar of the company
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in entering and processing shipments, experience with shipping carriers a plus
  • Experience in data entry (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Asana)
  • Must have organizational agility to adapt to changing work demands and priorities
  • Prior general warehouse skills a must (pallet jack, tape gun, box cutters, etc.)
  • Must be available and willing to work extended hours as occasionally needed per day or per week, including weekends and holidays
  • At least 2 years of experience in a quality control and/or shipping role is preferred
